Learn scientifically proven strategies to not only help your loved one develop the confidence to face their fears but to also ensure you self care
Because everyone deserves to live a life they love
Nearly half the adult population will suffer with anxiety or depression, or some other mental health issue at some time during their life. Therefore it is highly likely that someone you care about will need your support at some point. It could be your partner, child, parents, sibling, other family member, friend, or colleague.
The clinic recognises the crucial role that people like you play in providing support to a loved one in the hours outside of therapy. While helping others can be very rewarding, it can also be challenging. If you’ve flown, you’ll know that when emergencies happen and the oxygen mask drops from the ceiling you are supposed to fit it to yourself first, then offer help to others. The idea is that if you help others first, and fail, then there are two people out of commission. While if you take the time to self-care first then you will be okay and in a position to help others more effectively. To this end, Dr Kaja offers periodic information sessions that focus on understanding mental health issues, the scientifically proven strategies that help people overcome it and most importantly, on strategies for self care and nourishment for you as a carer.
